How Vitamin D Helps & Heals
Have you been feeling a little tired lately?
Memory a little slow and unclear on what you were going to do today? Does this sound familiar? Well, let me just say this was all me before Covid-19 hit in March 2020. In September 2019, God had a plan for me that I literally walked into but didn’t see coming. I started with a new Health journey because the one I was on was inconsistent and giving me less than ideal results. I had been taking vitamins consistently for years, especially with cod liver oil, vitamin E, C, B12 but not so much D.
I realized I needed to change my diet and uptick my vitamins to match the energy needed to have great workouts. Being in Arizona helped a great deal as most days are just sunny with little to no clouds, even the winters have more daylight than my native Chicago, Illinois. Vitamin D & C became my focus during this time really because of the symptoms I see annually with the fall and winter months in healthcare.
What is Vitamin D
Vitamin D is one of the fat-soluble vitamins. It can be made by your body when exposed to the sun but the active form in your body, called calcitriol, has similarities to other hormones (estrogen, cortisol, and testosterone).
Why Vitamin D is needed
Vitamin D Deficiency has so many health risks that include but are not limited to:
Cardiovascular disease
Cancer
osteoporosis,
autoimmune diseases
infections,
inflammatory bowel disease
psychological disorders
cognitive disorders

mortality
These are just a few of the complications if you have a Vitamin D deficiency.
